Hybrid ceramic bearing can effectively prevent the ac and dc current causing arc damage to lubrication and raceway. The impedance of the hybrid ceramic bearing is very high, even to high frequency current, thus can effectively prevent the high frequency current and peak current from passing the ball/contact part of the race. For small hybrid ceramic bearing equipped with steel plate reinforced nitrile rubber (NBR) contact seal, the first arc voltage level by seal and bearing contact should be more than 2.5 kv dc.
